There was a king who one day declared that he would reward 1 million coins to anybody who could feed his goat stomach full. If the person failed the attempt, he would be behead.
Lot of people were interested to win 1 million coins and started taking risk of feeding the goat stomach full. It started one by one. People took the goat and tried feeding it with grass the whole day and brought it back to the king in the evening . On the goat’s return the king would attempt to feed the goat with some grass and the goat would always be ready to eat more.
The king kept beheading people who failed in the task of feeding the goat full belly. Like this more than hundreds of people were beheaded.
A saint who was shocked hearing this, thought of a way to stop this irrational behavior. He went to the king and asked if he could take the goat to feed it belly full as per the king’s condition. The king who initially hesitated later agreed to give the saint a chance. The saint held the rope of the goat to control it and tempted the goat with grass. When the hungry goat approached the grass, the saint would beat the goat on its mouth every time it attempted to eat. He repeated this continuously until finally the goat gave up and never approached the grass when hungry.
In the evening the saint took the goat back to the king’s court. The king gets astonished to see that the goat refuses to eat grass and assumes that it had been fed stomach full. The king admires the saint and awards him 1 million coins.
