Once there lived a father and a son in a small village. The father’s business is selling soup. The business flourished well, every day so many customers came from different places to drink the soup and the soup got recognition in and around that village.
One fine evening, the son and the father were busy preparing the soup; one of the customers approached the father, “How you are preparing this very nice soup? How is it possible for you to make the taste of the soup getting better and better every day? What is its specialty?”
The Father said, “This is a secret!! I’m adding a special ingredient to the soup which only makes it tastier!!” The son looked up to the father and the father smiled. Soon the soup and the secret ingredient became talk of the village. Also, the son became very curious to know what it was and the father was making clever excuses to reveal the secret.
Days passed by and the father became sick one day, he called his loving son and asked him to sit on his side. The son did so. The father said, “My dear son, I started counting my days. Now the time has come for me to tell you what the secret ingredient is.” Though the son was worried about the father’s health condition, he was very eager to know the secret ingredient.
At last the father spoke in a very low whispering voice, “Son, There is no secret ingredient!” The son was astonished. The father continued to speak, “There need not be anything really special, but if we believe that something is special, it becomes special in our eyes. That is what I practiced as my business tactics and you all believed my words that there really exists a secret ingredient! ”. The son became silent, he began to contemplate over the thought his father had said.
